Atelierista
As part of my on-going residence at Guildford Nursery school, I wanted to share some of the images I have that shows a small part of what I have been experiencing whilst working within the setting and alongside the children and their play.
As always I am struck at the importance of time... allowing thought, reflection, continued engagement with no rush to end the exploration. It is a challenge that all Nursery settings face within the timetables of sessions, lunch, staff rotation etc. Providing resources that offer open ended exploration and opportunities to lead to somewhere new.
Witnessing a child truly learning through their own self directed exploration is a precious thing. Supporting and encouraging and recording what they have chosen to do, continues to be an inspiration for me and my practice.
